Fact is...I have an addiction to ice cream, and I’m way past denial. I’ve loved ice cream ever since I was a little girl. My parents would always buy a tub of chocolate ice cream for my brothers and me. My dad would scoop me ice cream some nights after dinner, so I could say I’m attached to ice cream because of the memories as well. Anyways, I have to admit it’s tough trying to stay in shape when all you want to do is eat ice cream every night before its time to go to bed! My solution since my days of eating Babcock ice cream almost every night my freshman year: buy a single serving size of my favorite Ben & Jerry’s flavor ice cream, cookie dough, of course!

…What you expected me to say, that I went cold turkey?! No way! Well only if Cold Turkey was the new Ben & Jerry’s flavor of the month. Surely, no ice cream would be the healthiest option but its easier said than done. I’m a firm believer in moderation, and certainly eating ice cream every night was not the answer, but knowing what you’re putting into your body and learning about proportion control, you can really cut down on cravings.

Since I don’t buy more than a serving size I don’t eat more than the recommended amount. It’s definitely helped me cut my cravings, and how I eat! I’ll leave the healthy food talking to my good friend, Ellen Chapman. She has a great food blog for those of you who are curious, you should check it out! Meanwhile enjoy healthy moderations! I know I will.
